EVENT INFORMATION
Tour of Thekkady:
ToT is the cycling event in India, created with a cyclosportive or gran fondo format, similar to L'Étape du Tour de France or La Marmotte. It premiered in the year 2022 and has been successfully conducted annually ever since
The route:
The route is designed similar to Tour De France Stages. With 3000+ meters elevation and a distance of 160KM. Starting from Kottayam, a small town near Kumarakom , the ride ends at Thekkady riding via Idukki town. The route is very scenic and passes through the established tourist circuit of Kerala. Most of the route has light traffic and the tarmac is well laid out.
Ride Type & CUT-OFF Time:
A rider can join the tour, where he/she can finish the ride in 14 hours, giving yourself enough time to stop and cherish the tranquility of nature enroute. Or a rider can compete with others in a gran fondo race under the various categories as listed below Men-elite ( 18+ years), Men-Masters (40+yrs), Women ( 18+years) or form a team of 4 riders and compete in team category.
ELIGIBILITY
The rider must complete 18 years or more of age at the time of registration. There is no other eligibility criteria. However, it's advised that riders acquire some endurance climbing experience to ensure a safe and comfortable finish.
Registration fee covers:
Registration fee covers event participation, certificates and medals on successful completion, essential technical support, hydration support and medical support en route, bag drop facility ( from Kottayam to Thekkady) and refreshments at the finish point.
Registration Fees EXCLUDES:
Registration fee does not cover the cost of event merchandise, accommodation at beginning/ end of event, food enroute or any other facilities not explicitly mentioned during registration.
EVENT MERCHANDISE
ToT Jersey, T-shirt and Cap will be available to purchase from 15th December 2024 on direct payment. The merchandise will be delivered at bib collection or can be shipped to any address in India with an additional shipping fee after the event.
BIKE RETURN SERVICES
An optional service for bike return on next day morning will be arranged at extra cost. More details on this will be shared atleast 7 days prior to the event.
PRIZE for RACE categories.
There will be cash prizes awarded to the top 3 finishers in each race category as follows
Team Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000, Rs. 10,000
Men - Elite Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000, Rs. 5,000
Men - Masters Rs. 7,000, Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000
Women Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,000, Rs. 5,000

KEG Bikers is a not-for-profit society registered under Travancore-Kochi Chartitable act 1955. Tour of Thekkady is designed as a not-for-profit event with the vision to develop it into the India’s largest international cycling event, where 1000s of cyclists around the world congregate at Kottayam and experience the beauty of God's Own Country on a bicycle. The Event's cost is met with registration fee, merchandise sales, contributions from members of KEG Bikers and supporting corporate organizations.
